Runes, Leather, Bones

Runes Glow

    Thin Khorne Red with Lahmian Medium to a 1:3 ratio and apply it liberally over the runes on the wrist, shield, hammer, stone runes, and the anvil on the iron halo, ensuring the base Khorne Red shows at the edges.

    Thin Mephiston Red with Lahmian Medium to a 1:3 ratio and apply it within the Khorne Red stage, leaving the Khorne Red showing towards the edges. Also wash this mix over the lights on the wrist and hammer.

    Thin Phalanx Yellow with Lahmian Medium to a 1:3 ratio and apply it towards the center of each rune as a final touch, making sure it looks like it's burning from within. Wash the same mix over the lights on the wrist and hammer for a glowy effect, without worrying about precision.

Face

    Basecoat the face with a few thin layers of Kislev Flesh, allowing each layer to dry completely to avoid texturing.

    Apply Darkoath Flesh into the recesses of the face to add definition. Tidy up any overspill with Kislev Flesh.

    Pick out the eyes with Abaddon Black and then cover his beard.

    Highlight the beard with Eshin Grey, painting towards the end of the beard and picking out individual sculpted hairs, leaving Abaddon Black in the recesses.

    Pick out the whites of the eyes with White Scar by adding a dot to each side of the eye using the tip of the brush with light pressure.

Base

    Use Stirland Mud and a texture tool to apply it all over the base, using the smaller end to push it around details. Let it dry for about an hour.

    Wash the dried Stirland Mud with Abaddon Black thinned to a 1:4 ratio with Lahmian Medium.

    Drybrush highlight the Stirland Mud with Zamesi Desert, using gentle brush strokes to avoid streaks.

    Apply Valhallan Blizzard to the base, using the texture tool to spread it, focusing on areas where snow would settle or gather. Add some to the model as well to tie it in with the base, using an older brush and exercising restraint.
